Her lover's soul now resides in the Transistor where Red is able to hear his voice. Her lover sacrificed himself in order to save Red. Little to their knowledge, she was not alone. They had heard Red was going to be alone after one of her shows so they plotted to assassinate her. But in order for the plan to work, that would mean they would need to kill influential figures so their soul to actually be integrated into it. Therefore they wanted to make a system that used integrated great minds so it could possibly rule over the city by the name of Transistor. The Camerata wanted to give Cloudbank something they didn't know that they wanted. Everything was always easily accessible and changeable. At the press of a button, citizens were able to vote on what they wanted the weather or when they wanted the seasons to change. Almost everything was democratically decided by the citizens. The Camerata's goal was to make the perfect city. They control the robots called the Process that regulate the city, but once they lost the Transistor, they also lost their means of controlling the Process causing the downfall of their city. The group consisted of Sybil Reisz, Royce Bracket, Asher Kendrell, and Grant Kendrell. Her ability to stir up her audience with her lyrics and words is what caused her to be targeted by a secret underground influential government group, the Camerata. She had never realized to what extent her music reached her listeners until a fight broke out at one of her concerts. Red never intended for her music to be so influential and controversial but it was to her listeners. Red was a famous, influential songstress before the Process went out of control and destroyed the city. The main protagonist Red, travels the city with a weapon called Transistor in order to pursue the true meaning behind the weapon’s purpose and how it contributed to the fall of the city. Transistor is a single player sci-fi roleplay indie game that takes place in a futuristic metropolis by the name of Cloudbank. (Forgive me if my writing is poor, I am a computer game science major, not an English major afterall.) To be completely honest, this is my first game review that I’ve ever written in my life, so if anyone has any constructive feedback or comments, let me know! I’d love to hear other people’s analysis. My review will be focusing on six main points: narrative/gameplay, genre, aesthetics, history, culture, and impact. WARNING: This post DOES contain spoilers.įor my Game and Society final for university, I have to upload my game review of Transistor that I’ve been working on since the beginning of the quarter.
